Plot Overview (from the back of the book)
Isis Tatum knows firsthand the way love can mess up a person. After all, she saw her mother drive a truck through the home of her father’s mistress before killing her dad. And ever since Isis was a teenager, her love life has been a series of disasters: her first sweetheart was executed by the state of Virginia, and her next lover was sent to jail for murder. Now Isis is a successful jewelry designer, but she remains a failure with men. When she meets Logic, a Las Vegas high roller who treats her like a princess, Isis reckons she’s finally struck gold – literally. Logic sees to it that her custom pieces of jewelry are seen on the hottest rap stars and pro athletes.
But when this Mr. Right ends up in jail too, Isis starts to believe that she’s cursed, that she’s a true Black Widow. Always one to roll with the punches, she embraces her life and walks bravely down all its twisted paths, taking her business to unprecedented heights while letting the men who dare to get involved with her take their chances.

I thought the book was excellent but i would have liked for Isis to have been happy in the end.

i really liked this book. it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. nikki turner is always a winner when it comes to bringing a hot read. i had read some of her other novels and always been impressed and this time was no different. the black widow really put me in the mind of another book that i just read called, the risk of chance, written by kole black. both of these books took me on the ride of my life, and they both had somewhat similar plot lines. i cant wait to read the next novel by nikki turner. until then i’ll keep on reading the old stuff.

I also wanted Isis to be happy in the end. I like how most of her book link together. My favorite book of Nikki’s is Project Chick.

I gotta agree with Anna Lee Jackson’s comment. Nikki Turner & Kole Black are also my two favorite authors. They both have a rawness that you just don’t see that often. Kole Black’s “The Chance She Took” is definitely a street classic, as is Nikki Turner’s “Black Widow”. I would love to see Nikki Turner & Kole Black do a book together! Because they are both incredible writers!

Black Widow was OFF DA HOOK! No lie, I was stuck to the pages like glue! As for comparing Nikki Turner to Kole Black, I mean, they both have their own style. I dont see how you can even put them in the same catagory. Kole Black is more sensual with a hard core street edge. Nikki is more gangster with a sprinkle of hood. But it would be quite interesting to see what these two authors would come up with if they were paired together, because they both bring so much to the table. It would be like the street version of Carl Weber & Mary B. Morrison, but only Kole Black is way finer than Carl Weber. That’s just this hood chick’s opinion. Black Widow is “tha joint”.

Count me in the rest of the world! This book was so tight! Nikki Turner is tha queen of street fiction, and Kole Black is definitely the king right now! I would love to see these to put book together too. I know it would be all that and then some. That would be on some history makin’ right there! Nikki Turner came correct with this one, fa’sho. The main character was something serious too. Nikki Turner kind of left this ending open for a sequel. I hope she does one. I cant wait. Im a Nikki Turner fan4life!
