THE NAKED TRUTH by Chunichi

Chunichi, Essence magazine bestselling author, is back and keepin’ it raw in her latest drama-filled novel, The Naked Truth. Chunichi wouldn’t dare return without the infamous Ceazia Devereaux (her dedicated fans won’t allow it), the street debutante who went from being just a gangster’s girl who got married to the game to now finding herself widowed – or so she thinks – from a lifestyle she once knew.
Making a much-needed move from Richmond, VA, where she leaves behind a grueling past that she hasn’t been held accountable for, Ceazia finds her way to Atlanta, GA. There she quickly discovers that there’s nothing sweeter than becoming a Georgia peach, to get what she wants. Ceazia sets up a chance encounter with Parlay, a big-name rapper, who, she believes, has just what it takes to allow her to retire from the game once and for all. For Ceazia, will the end justify the means?
Danielle, Ceazia’s arch-enemy, is close on her heels, making sure that Ceazia doesn’t run away from her past. And so Danielle follows her all the way to Atlanta, bound and determined to make her pay for past sins. But then she gets caught up in the very same web that she weaves. Will Danielle’s thirst for revenge against Ceazia take a back seat as someone sets out to destroy her own life?
This book, by far Chunichi’s best work to date, not only keeps readers entertained and on edge, but also forces them to do a double-take…to find The Naked Truth between the lies.

DESPERATE SISTERS by Stephanie Johnson
November 20, 2008 by Daniel · Leave a Comment
Looks can definitely be deceiving, and the lives of these three fabulous sisters, Jalisa O’Neil, Lyda Lawrence and Valen Monet are no exception. From the outside it appears they have it all – expensive fancy homes, nice luxury cars, and money galore. Their men lavish them with all of the finest things money can buy, and a lifestyle that would make anyone envious. The real deal is that these three ladies are beyond frustrated, and desperate for a little satisfaction.
Jalisa’s tired of struggling with a husband who’s more married to the job than to her, and her needs, when he’s not putting in long hours at the offices, he’d rather spend time on the golf course. Lyda’s boyfriend can’t keep it up past one round, but sends their credit card bills through the roof with endless calls to 900 numbers. Valen’s husband believes that a woman’s place is in the home and should only have to answer one question, “Did you get yours?” Fed up with nagging their men to attend to their needs, Jalisa, Lyda and Valen find other things to occupy them. From the AAA man to nosy neighbors, from old flings to young men fresh out of high school, Jalisa, Lyda, and Valen get what they need and then some! Their stories will make most men think twice about neglecting their women.

Sammie lost everything that he loved: parents, friends, and his way of living. How would he survive? And could he survive?
Player, Liar, and Deceiver.
Those are the words that Terrance and Malik would use to describe Samuel “Street” Jamieson. They never considered him their father. Nadine sees the same poisonous charm in her sons as she saw in Street. a father’s absence is always present in the lives of his sons. Unsuppressed anger, hatred, and bitterness fester in Terrance and Malik. These emotions surface to a crescendo when they are faced with circumstances that threaten to shatter their world. Can they learn to forgive?
The path of survival will intersect the path of hate. Can they build a road of understanding?

KEEPING UP WITH THE JONES by P.R. Hawkins
October 4, 2008 by Daniel · Leave a Comment
Risa James spent long hard years cementing herself as a talented professional behind the camera on her popular local television show, City Scenes. Her determination and grit proved that she didn’t have to rely on her model-perfect good looks to land major market interviews and stellar stories. She had everything a busy young professional could have, except a love life. And how could she possibly have a love life without a man?
JD Jones was a local boy done good. He lived a charmed life as an ex-professional football player and successful businessman. He had everything a man of his stature could want, except a loving wife to share his dreams with and to walk beside him as he built his empire.
When Risa and JD met, there was intense fire and passion, but was what they had more than just lust and passion? Risa didn’t seem to think so, but for her to get as close to JD as she needed to be – him being the only male child in a close-knit family of all sisters and a protective mother and father – she was going to have to be able to keep up with the Jones in order to possibly become the next Mrs. Jones.
