I am not mentioning realism the way it would be applied in a painting. He is an author that I read and I said "how would I be as a writer?" When I started working on novels, I thought about how K'Wan's Hood Rat and from there, I decided that avoiding a watery story would intrigue readers. K'Wan is actually the author in urban fiction that I feel really puts his stories together well. They don't appear saturated. What I like about K’Wan is that he create a story that has realism to it.
